There are seasons of life that only truly make sense when viewed through the lens of hindsight.
While you are living through them, the landscape can feel deeply confusing. You question the unexpected delays, wonder why certain doors were firmly closed ahead of us, and struggle to understand a path that feels entirely uncertain. We pray for clarity, but sometimes, God only provides enough light for the very next step.
Only later, from a place of perspective, do we begin to see what He was orchestrating all along.
Looking back over my own journey, I have come to realize that the moments I once classified as setbacks were actually seasons of sacred preparation.
- Seasons that felt slow were quietly cultivating patience.
- Seasons that felt lonely were intentionally drawing me closer to the heart of God.
- Seasons that seemed completely ordinary were quietly shaping the woman I am actively becoming today.
The Evolution of the Vision: Building FemiLux Éra
One of the clearest monuments to this truth has been the journey of building FemiLux Éra.
When the vision first dropped into my spirit, I couldn’t see the full tapestry. I didn’t possess every answer, nor did I have every skill polished and ready. There were heavy days when progress felt microscopic, and quiet moments when I questioned whether anyone would ever read or connect with the space I was creating.
But alignment requires showing up, even when visibility is low. One blog post transitioned into another. One minor pivot led to the next breakthrough. Eventually, what began as a solitary seed blossomed into a sanctuary—a growing website, a collection of reflections, music, and an intentional space designed to encourage women exactly where they are in life.
Along the way, I even chose to step completely outside my comfort zone by creating my AI twin. At first, it felt unfamiliar and pushed me past the boundaries of the known. Today, I see it as a powerful, innovative extension of my creative ministry—a unique tool that allows me to tell stories, share encouragement, and bring the expansive vision of FemiLux Éra to life in ways I never could have imagined or engineered on my own.
Looking back, I can clearly see that each individual step prepared me for the next one.
The Shift: From External Progress to Internal Capacity
Reflection reveals a profound truth: true growth happens so gradually that we rarely catch it occurring in real-time. Often, the grandest shift isn’t happening around us—it is happening within us.
“Your past is not a definition of your failures. It is the exact blueprint of your preparation.” — FemiLux Éra ✨
The way we respond to disappointment changes. The way we pray changes. The things we once worried about begin to lose their grip. Our confidence slowly shifts from our own rigid understanding and onto God’s unshakeable faithfulness.
That is why reflection is so incredibly valuable. It isn’t about wishing we could go back, nor is it about dwelling on past mistakes. Reflection is about recognizing God’s fingerprints on moments we didn’t fully understand at the time. It transforms painful memories into reminders of His faithfulness and converts uncertainty into confidence for whatever comes next.
Anchored in the Word
This beautiful unfolding is exactly what scripture promises us:
- Romans 8:28 reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” This doesn’t mean every season feels good while we are in it; it means God is entirely capable of weaving every single season into something purposeful.
- Psalm 119:105 declares: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” A lamp does not illuminate the entire horizon all at once. It illuminates the ground directly beneath you, providing just enough light for the immediate next step. Looking back, we almost always realize that step-by-step illumination was exactly what we needed to keep from falling.
Today, I can look back and clearly see God’s hand resting on the exact places where I once saw only fog and uncertainty. And seeing His radical faithfulness yesterday gives me the unshakeable confidence to trust Him with my tomorrow.
Final Reflection: Tracing the Fingerprints
- Where can you now see God’s hand where you couldn’t see it before?
Take a few intentional moments today to audit a past season that once felt heavy, slow, or confusing. Remove the lens of disappointment and look a little closer. You just might discover that what felt like a painful delay was actually pristine preparation—and what felt like a devastating ending was quietly holding the keys to your newest beginning.
