Mending in the Soft Places
The world often tells us to heal quickly—to gloss over our pain, mask our scars, and hurry back into performance or survival mode. But true restoration cannot be rushed. It requires us to show up with absolute honesty in the quiet spaces. Healing means giving yourself permission to acknowledge what hurt you, without allowing it to define the woman you are actively becoming.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3
To “bind up” is a tender, medical term meaning to wrap a wound securely so it is protected while it mends. God is not rushing your recovery; He is holding a safe, comforting compress over your sorest places while your spirit gently heals from the inside out.
Unpacking Your Sanctuary Journal:
- The Tender Spaces: What lingering disappointment or heartbreak am I still secretly holding onto and trying to fix on my own?
- Self-Compassion: Where have I been too harsh or demanding with my timeline? Write down a gentle note of forgiveness to yourself.
- Evidence of Growth: Reflect on a previous season where your heart felt bruised but eventually bloomed again. Let that progress give you hope today.
Affirmations for the Mending Heart
“I release the weight of what hurt me, and extend deep compassion to my journey.”
“I am worthy of a soft, safe space to rebuild. My mending counts, even when it happens slowly.”
“My heart is opening back up to joy, held securely by a grace that never fails.”
“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls your capacity to bloom.”
Healing Still Counts
To sunlit air and softer soil.
A quiet grace is being found,
Beyond the heavy grief and toil.
Each broken petal on the floor,
Is gently gathered by His hand.
You are much stronger than before,
So give your weary soul to stand.
Before you leave this moment, remember that you do not have to carry every question all at once.
Reset your heart with compassion.
Realign your spirit with the woman you are becoming.
Healing still counts, even slowly.
